Advent & Christmas
Our Advent & Christmas services
COVID REGULATIONS: Following the “Plan B” announcement services will not be socially distanced. As much ventilation will be open as possible and all attendees need to wear a face covering unless a child or exempt.
In December 2021 our collections will be in support “Embrace The Middle East” as well as “Emmaus”:
Embrace the Middle East is a Christian development charity tackling poverty and injustice in the Middle East. The Bishop of Southwark is a patron. It supports Christian partners in the Middle East as they work to transform lives and restore the dignity of the most excluded and marginalised communities. Where there is a need – for refuge, a home, for health care, for education, for justice and human rights – Embrace the Middle East, with its partners, responds. Its goal is to contribute to a culture of human flourishing in a troubled region, which is particularly in our thoughts at Christmas.
Emmaus is a charity working with people who have been homeless, providing a home and employment in a social enterprise business. the ethos of Emmaus is not to seek donations for on going life, as part of the dignity of belonging to an Emmaus community is being self sufficient. Emmaus Leicester, where Rev’d John Whittaker was a trustee, has recently purchased premises after many years of renting and are appealing for support to help with the costs of setting up a new community home. It would be wonderful if we could be part of that story by generously supporting them at this time of need.
