We are delighted to announce that we will host our first ever Glass Door Sleep Out (or IN the church!) at St Mary’s Church this year! This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the Glass Door Sleep Out and we’re going to make it a special one!
Glass Door partners with churches and community centres to give shelter and support because no one should have to sleep on the streets of London.
For many years our Parish and our charity team, Parish Action, have supported Glass Door both with fundraising and by opening our church doors to provide emergency shelter to people who live on the street. Unfortunately, Covid put a stop to the night shelter at St Mary’s but Glass Door continue to provide shelter, as well as offer advice and support to help people move beyond homelessness throughout the year. And they need our help!
WHEN: Friday 7th October 2022 @ 9pm (bacon butties will be served in the morning. Please pack up by 7am)
WHERE: St Mary’s Church, Putney
INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?: We have space available both inside the main church and outside in the Busy Bees nursery play area. Please select your ticket accordingly as there is limited space in both areas. Toilets will be available to all participants all night in the church.
WHO CAN TAKE PART: Members of the St Mary’s and All Saints’ Putney church and school community. Children under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult AT ALL TIMES.
GOAL: We ask that each participant pledges to help us raise as much as we can for this incredible cause. We’re aiming to raise AT LEAST £1000.
LINK FOR SPONSORSHIP: We ask that everyone use our central sponsorship page so that donations are gathered in one place and will automatically go straight to Glass Door. Any cash donations can be brought to the church office or on the night. https://giving.give-star.com/microsite/glass-door/glass-door-sleep-out/fundraising-page/parishofputney-glass-door-sleep-out
We can’t wait to welcome you!
If you can’t take part, please sponsor us!!!
Please donate anything you can to provide shelter and support to someone who has nowhere else to turn. Please share with family and friends on Facebook and Twitter – and beyond – so we can reach our target, and we can bring more people in off the streets. Thank you!
