Dates of 2026 meetings:  15th April, 20th May (APCM), 15th July, 23rd September, 4th November.

The PCC last met on 28th January 2026.

  • This meeting was primarily focused on parish wide governance / housekeeping.
  • We worked on safeguarding communications and reviewed some of the financial data for the parish.
  • Both churches reported on recent highlights including the organ fundraising at All Saints’ and the new cafe in the Brewer Building.

Meeting of the Parishioners and APCM

The meeting of the parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting took place on 14th May 2025. At the APCM the reports and accounts of the parish for 2024 were received.

St Mary’s District Church Council (DCC)

Each church is governed by a DCC, chaired by the member of the clergy with responsibility for that church: All Saints’ DCC is chaired by the Team Vicar. Each church also has two deputy churchwardens (also known as ‘district wardens’).

Dates of 2026 meetings: 18th March, Sunday 19th April (ACM at 11:45 am in church), 24th June, 16th September, 25th November.

The most recent St Mary’s DCC meeting was on 14th January 2026.

  • This meeting considered several ongoing matters, including the next service we have with focused attention of prayer for healing and wholeness; legal issues around our church lettings; a complaint received about a letting and how we manage risk into the future; and setting up a sub committee to focus on ministry to 0-18’s in the church.
  • There was a long discussion on the use of the Cromwell room during services, affirming it’s place as a sanctuary for parents with children but noting concern on how easy it is to become detached from the service with that detachment sometimes cascading into noise and movement that is proving distracting.
  • Rejoiced in the news that a new cafe, ‘Ground’, owned by Dave and Tracey Dickenson will be opening on Friday 23 January 2026.
