This is the how teenagers and adults mark their intention to lead an adult Christian life.
They ‘confirm’ the promises made on their behalf by their parents and godparents when they were baptised as children to seek to follow Christ’s life. The Bishop, who always takes confirmation services, lays hands on the head of those being confirmed as he prays that the Holy Spirit will enable them follow in the way of Jesus. We usually arrange for people from the Parish to be confirmed at least once a year. The clergy are always happy to talk about confirmation to anyone wanting to know more.
