Based in Milan, the OAM is an ensemble which includes young adults with mental or physical disabilities. Its players attend a special music school under the directorship of Senior Marco Sciammarella. Senior Marco Volpi is their conductor.
Established in 2006, the CSO is based in the South Coast of England. Its players come from the UK and abroad at their own expense to have fun through honest music and to raise money for those who need it. The CSO’s director and conductor is Craig Lawton. Craig is also an accomplished organist and timpanist.
The two orchestras have performed highly successful concerts twice together in Italy in recent years but this is the first visit of the OAM to the UK.
There will be a mini-matinee at 4.00pm in the afternoon for children aged between 5 and 12 years old and a performance in the evening at 7.30pm.
The evening performance will include Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite. Copeland’s Rodeo Suite and works by Beethoven, Elgar and Rossini.
